Westport, CT – Bus Collision on I-95 S Leaves Injuries

Westport, CT (October 9, 2025) – A crash involving a bus and another vehicle left several people injured on Thursday afternoon, October 9, on I-95 southbound in Westport. According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the collision occurred between Exits 17 and 16, prompting an immediate emergency response. Authorities reported that both vehicles sustained damage, though the bus appeared to have taken the brunt of the impact. Several passengers and occupants were assessed for injuries, and at least one individual was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. The severity of those injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Connecticut State Police closed multiple lanes while first responders worked to clear the scene and ensure passengers were safely relocated. Tow trucks were later called in to remove the damaged vehicles, and traffic was heavily backed up in the area for more than an hour. The cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
