Caroline Co., VA – Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-95 S/Ladysmith Rd

Caroline County, VA (October 8, 2025) – A tragic crash on I-95 South in Caroline County claimed the life of one driver on Sunday night, October 5. According to the Virginia State Police, the collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the Ladysmith Road exit when a vehicle in the center lane struck another car traveling in the left lane. The second driver managed to regain control and pulled over safely to the right shoulder, while the first vehicle came to rest across the center and right lanes. Moments later, a southbound tractor-trailer collided with the disabled vehicle, forcing it onto the shoulder.

Troopers arrived at the scene to find heavy damage to both vehicles. The driver of the struck car was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival. Authorities stated that the victim was related to other occupants in the vehicle, though no additional details have been released pending family notification.
