Volusia Co., FL – Chain-Reaction Crash on I-95 Injures Multiple People
Volusia County, FL (December 30, 2025) – Multiple people were injured following a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 northbound near mile marker 268, just before State Road 40, on Tuesday, December 30, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The initial collision occurred when a 2012 Acura TSX driven by an 18-year-old Palm Coast resident struck the rear of a 2022 Jeep Compass after attempting to avoid slowing traffic.
Both vehicles veered off the roadway, and two occupants were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach with reported injuries. While Volusia County EMS was responding to the initial crash, their ambulance was struck from behind by a 2020 RAM 1500 pickup truck. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and collide with a guardrail.
Three additional individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The EMS paramedics were not injured and remained on scene to assist. Northbound traffic experienced significant delays as Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigated and cleared the scene.
FHP continues to examine the events that led to the collisions.
We wish all injured parties a timely recovery.
