Prince George’s Co., VA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 Claims One Life
Prince George’s County, VA (December 29, 2025) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound in Prince George’s County claimed at least one life on Sunday, December 28. The Virginia State Police reported that the collision occurred around 7:40 a.m. near the 45-mile marker.
Troopers responded to the scene and found extensive damage consistent with a high-impact crash. Despite life-saving efforts, one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities are currently working to notify the victim’s next of kin before releasing identifying information.
Other occupants involved in the crash were assessed by medical personnel, and at least one person received on-site medical assistance for minor injuries.
The northbound lanes of I-95 experienced significant delays as Virginia State Police secured the area and conducted a detailed investigation. Portions of the roadway were temporarily closed while evidence was documented and damaged vehicles were removed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and officials have stated that additional details will be released as they become available.
