St. Johns Co., FL – Fiery I-95 Crash Sends One to Hospital by Helicopter
St. Johns County, FL (January 4, 2026) – A fiery two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 left one person critically injured on Sunday, January 4, in St. Johns County. According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, the collision occurred near mile marker 307 between State Road 206 exits and caused a semi-truck to erupt in flames.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and deployed hazmat teams to manage a diesel fuel leak. One victim suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center. The second individual was assessed at the scene. Traffic came to a complete standstill for several hours. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
