Orangeburg Co., SC – Deadly Two-Vehicle Crash on I-95 Claims One Life, Injures Two

Orangeburg County, SC (August 10, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 in Orangeburg County claimed one life and left two others hospitalized on Saturday morning, August 9. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 10:53 a.m. near the 95-mile marker on the northbound side of the interstate. Troopers arriving on the scene found one passenger who had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were seriously hurt and transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The vehicles involved suffered heavy damage, and debris was scattered across multiple lanes, forcing a temporary shutdown of northbound traffic. The South Carolina Highway Patrol has begun a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
