Mims, FL – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 Leaves One Dead, One Seriously Injured

Mims, FL (July 27, 2025) – A deadly three-vehicle crash on Saturday morning, July 26, left one man dead and a woman seriously injured on I-95 near Mims, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The accident occurred around 8:46 a.m. near mile marker 230 and involved a pickup truck, a parked tractor-trailer, and a sedan. FHP says the 74-year-old Fort Pierce man driving the pickup was heading south in the outside lane when he veered off the road for unknown reasons and struck the back of a parked tractor-trailer on the shoulder. The impact forced the pickup back into the center lane, where it collided with an oncoming sedan. The secondary crash sent the pickup into the median guardrail. The pickup driver was rushed to Parrish Medical Center, where he later died. The 74-year-old woman driving the sedan, from New Smyrna Beach, suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. The truck’s driver and passenger were not hurt and stayed at the scene to assist authorities. FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
