Harnett Co., NC – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on I-95 N, One Injured

Harnett County, NC (November 18, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound claimed one life and left another injured on Monday, November 17. The collision occurred between exits 70 and 71 around 4:29 p.m. North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troopers report that a Jeep Gladiator collided with an Acura sedan, which may have suffered a mechanical failure while traveling at extremely low speed.

Trooper Christopher McIntosh, who responded to the scene, spoke with witnesses and confirmed that the Jeep struck the rear of the Acura. The driver of the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the surviving occupant was transported to WakeMed Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The occupants of the Jeep were unharmed. The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations unit assisted the Highway Patrol in gathering evidence from the scene. Interstate 95 northbound lanes were temporarily closed during the investigation and cleanup. Authorities continue to review witness statements and vehicle conditions to determine the crash’s cause.
