West Palm Beach, FL – Fatal Wrong-Way Collision on I-95 Near Southern Blvd

West Palm Beach, FL (November 28, 2024) – A tragic wrong-way crash claimed the life of an 81-year-old man early Thursday morning, November 28 on I-95 near Southern Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Volkswagen, driven by a 20-year-old man from Sunrise, Florida, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Toyota traveling northbound. The Toyota overturned upon impact, coming to rest between the center and outside lanes, while the Volkswagen struck a concrete wall. The 81-year-old driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Volkswagen’s driver sustained incapacitating injuries. Emergency medical services transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
