West Haven, CT – Wrong-Way Crash on I-95/Exit 43 Injures Multiple Drivers
West Haven, CT (November 6, 2025) – A New Haven man driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 caused a multi-vehicle crash that injured several people on Tuesday, November 5, according to Connecticut State Police. The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. when 33-year-old Brandon Matthew Moore was driving a Mazda CX-5 northbound in the southbound lanes near Exit 43. Moore struck two other vehicles traveling in the left lane, causing significant damage to all three cars. After the collision, Moore reportedly fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by state troopers.
The two drivers struck in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Moore was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, leading to his arrest. All vehicles were towed from the scene as officers investigated the cause of the wrong-way collision. The roadway was later cleared and reopened to traffic.
