Warwick, RI – Passenger Fatally Struck After Exiting Moving Vehicle on I-95 SB

Warwick, RI (May 7, 2025) – A tragic accident on the night of Tuesday, May 6, resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle after exiting a moving car on Interstate 95 southbound in Warwick, according to the Rhode Island State Police. The incident occurred around 9:36 p.m., prompting a rapid response from state troopers and emergency medical services. Investigators say the man, a Texas resident from San Benito, was riding as a passenger when, under unknown circumstances, he exited the moving vehicle. Shortly after stepping onto the highway, the man was struck by another passing vehicle. Despite the immediate arrival of emergency responders, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His name has not yet been publicly released, pending family notification. Rhode Island State Police are continuing their inquiry into the accident.
