Stamford, CT – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-95 S Causes Injuries Near Exits 7 & 6

Stamford, CT (October 2, 2025) – An early morning crash involving three vehicles disrupted the Thursday commute on Interstate 95 South in Stamford and left multiple people injured. The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. between Exits 7 and 6, an area known for heavy morning congestion.

According to Connecticut State Police, the chain-reaction collision began when traffic unexpectedly slowed, causing one vehicle to brake abruptly. Two other vehicles behind it were unable to stop in time, resulting in a three-car pileup that blocked at least one lane of travel. Commuters reported long delays as troopers worked to secure the area.

Injured occupants were assessed by Stamford EMS, with at least one person transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Others were treated at the scene for minor complaints. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, and all lanes were gradually reopened after the crash site was cleared.

State Police continue to investigate contributing factors.
