Spotsylvania, VA (January 10, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision involving a Lexus and a tractor-trailer occurred on January 9 near the Patriot Highway exit on I-95 in Spotsylvania County, leaving two drivers injured. Virginia State Police reported that the crash happened around 6 p.m. when Ashton M. Faircloth, 18, of Stafford County, was driving southbound and, for reasons still under police investigation, lost control of the vehicle. Immediately after that, Faircloth’s Lexus collided with a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Frank K. Tandoh, 43, of Dumfries.
Faircloth, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local medical center for treatment. Tandoh, who had been wearing his seatbelt, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to VCU Health for emergency care. State troopers have charged Faircloth with reckless driving and failure to maintain control. The crash remains under investigation.
We extend our thoughts to both drivers and wish them a full recovery.
