, Sidney, ME – Multi-Vehicle Pileup on I-95 Near MM 119.5 Causes Injuries

It started when a white Chrysler 300, driven by Gerald Foss, 46, from Winslow, caught fire on I-95 around 3:40 p.m. at mile marker 119.5 northbound.

Another collision occurred at 3:47 p.m., involving four vehicles due to traffic slowing down near the burning Chrysler 300.

This pileup delayed the fire department’s response as traffic merged into the passing lane, causing an 18-wheeler carrying debris to collide with three other vehicles, pushing them off the road. Luckily, only one person from these vehicles required hospital transport for non-life-threatening injuries.

Later, Sidney Fire personnel arrived to put out the fire, though the Chrysler 300 was declared a total loss. Remarkably, no injuries were reported from the initial vehicle fire.

As traffic remained congested, a third collision involving four more vehicles occurred on the interstate injuring four individuals, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The investigation into these interconnected accidents is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with those affected by these incidents, and we wish them a swift recovery.
