Rye, NY – Crash on I-95 SB Leads to Injuries on the New England Thruway

Rye, NY (September 10, 2024) – A serious collision involving three cars and a tractor-trailer occurred on I-95 southbound on the New England Thruway, near Rye, on the morning of September 9th. The crash left three individuals hospitalized, including a driver who was trapped in their vehicle. At around 7:25 a.m., Rye Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene. Rye police reported that one person was pinned inside their vehicle, prompting firefighters to begin a complex rescue operation. The firefighters stabilized the car and worked diligently to extricate the trapped driver while Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS teams attended to other injured passengers. All individuals involved were provided immediate medical attention, and three were transported to nearby hospitals for further evaluation. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
