Richmond, VA (July 2, 2025) – Two firefighters were injured Tuesday morning, July 1, in a multi-vehicle crash involving a Richmond Fire Department truck on I-95 in Richmond. According to the Virginia State Police, the accident happened around 10:36 a.m. near mile marker 77. , Richmond, VA – Two Firefighters Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on I-95/MM 77The fire truck had been responding to an earlier single-vehicle crash and was positioned across the right and center lanes of the highway when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle towing a bobtail trailer.

The impact caused the tow vehicle to veer into a third vehicle, a sedan, resulting in a three-vehicle chain-reaction collision. The fire truck sustained significant damage, and traffic quickly became congested as emergency responders arrived on the scene. The two injured firefighters were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries reported as non-life-threatening. No other injuries were reported among the other drivers or passengers involved. The driver of the vehicle that struck the fire truck has been charged with reckless driving. Authorities are still investigating to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
