Richmond, VA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 N Near Hermitage Rd Results in Injuries

Richmond, VA (September 28, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on I-95 North in Richmond on Saturday afternoon, September 28th leaving multiple people injured. The crash took place around 1:52 p.m. near Hermitage Road, causing significant traffic delays in the area. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), both the right and center lanes were closed, leading to around three miles of congestion as emergency crews responded to the scene. First responders quickly arrived, assessing the situation and providing assistance to those involved in the crash. Several individuals sustained injuries, but the full extent of these injuries is still under investigation. Drivers were advised to take alternative routes as traffic backed up for hours. As of 8:33 p.m., VDOT confirmed that the scene had been cleared, and all lanes were reopened. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
