Philadelphia, PA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-95 in S Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA (December 11, 2024) – A tragic incident on I-95 in South Philadelphia claimed the life of a pedestrian late Tuesday night, December 10th.
The accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m., leading to the closure of the southbound lanes between the I-676 East and Market Street exits for several hours. Authorities reopened the highway early Wednesday morning. According to preliminary reports from the Philadelphia Police Department, the pedestrian was on the highway for unknown reasons when they were struck by a vehicle. First responders arrived promptly and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The vehicle involved remained at the scene, and law enforcement is currently investigating the circumstances leading to the collision. Authorities have urged any witnesses to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation by contacting the police.
