Philadelphia, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 Causes Injuries
Philadelphia, PA (August 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia left several people injured on Tuesday, August 26, along the busy highway. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes between Exit 19 and Exit 20 shortly before evening rush hour. One vehicle caught fire, sending plumes of smoke into the air as emergency responders rushed to the scene.
Paramedics assessed the injured parties at the scene, and at least one person required transportation to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation. Officials have not yet released the exact number of victims or the extent of their injuries.
Traffic on I-95 was brought to a standstill for several hours while crews battled the fire. Southbound lanes were fully reopened shortly after 7 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
