Milford, CT – Man Severely Injured in Hit-and-Run While Refueling on I-95
Milford, CT (December 22, 2024) – A man sustained severe leg injuries in a hit-and-run accident on I-95 southbound near Exit 38 on Sunday evening, December 22. The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. as the victim was refueling his vehicle on the shoulder of the highway. According to Milford Fire Department spokesperson Jason Dombrowski, a silver SUV, possibly a GMC Acadia or Chevrolet Traverse, struck the man in the breakdown lane and fled the scene. Emergency responders quickly arrived to provide aid and transported the victim to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. State police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information about the suspect vehicle to come forward. The crash caused temporary traffic disruptions as authorities secured the area and gathered evidence.
