Milford, CT – Hit-and-Run on I-95 S Claims Life of Pedestrian

Milford, CT (February 10, 2025) – A tragic hit-and-run accident on Interstate 95 South in Milford claimed the life of a 61-year-old man over the weekend, February 8, according to Connecticut State Police. The victim, identified as Vinton Dawson of Killingworth, was assisting a disabled tractor-trailer on the right shoulder when he was struck by a passing vehicle around 2:03 a.m. on Saturday. Authorities stated that a 2014-2017 white Hyundai Genesis, traveling in the right lane, veered onto the shoulder and hit Dawson before fleeing the scene.

Dawson sustained severe injuries and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later passed away on Monday. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle sustained right-front damage from the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or driver to come forward as the investigation continues.
