Miami, FL – Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 SB Near Northwest 62nd Street, Three Hospitalized

Miami, FL (September 3, 2023) – A severe three-vehicle collision occurred on Sunday, August 3rd, on I-95 in Miami, causing a lengthy highway closure and resulting in three individuals being transported to local hospitals.

The incident unfolded on the southbound lanes near Northwest 62nd Street.

Tony Navarro, a Good Samaritan and off-duty paramedic, happened to be en route to work and noticed the jackknifed tractor-trailer. Recognizing that no fire rescue or police personnel were on the scene, he immediately stepped in as the first responder to render assistance.

Upon receiving the crash reports, the City of Miami Fire Rescue teams rushed to the scene of the multi-vehicle accident at around 6:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found injured individuals on the right side, with one potential victim trapped beside the tractor-trailer and another facing a possible trauma alert on the right-hand side.

Two patients, one male and one female, were transported in serious condition to Ryder Trauma Center, while another female patient was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Although the extent of their injuries remains unclear, all three are expected to recover.

Florida Highway Patrol has taken charge of the accident investigation.
