McIntosh Co., GA – Mother and Four Children Killed in Fiery Crash on I-95 near MM 62
McIntosh County, GA (April 6, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on the morning of Sunday, April 6, claimed the lives of a mother and her four young children on I-95 near Mile Marker 62. According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Ashdown, the tragic crash occurred around 6:00 a.m. when a Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound rear-ended an Infiniti sedan. The impact caused the Jeep to veer into the left lane, strike a guardrail, and catch fire shortly after. The vehicle was engulfed in flames within moments.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 27-year-old Reagan Dougan, and her four children—aged 3 months, 2, 4, and 9—tragically lost their lives at the scene. Their names have not yet been released out of respect for the family. Authorities noted that the Jeep was a rental vehicle from Raleigh, North Carolina, and the family was reportedly en route to Florida, although their exact destination and residence remain unclear. State troopers shut down multiple lanes of the interstate for several hours to allow for investigations, scene processing, and cleanup. Investigators from the Georgia State Patrol are continuing to examine all contributing factors.
Our deepest condolences go out to the loved ones of Reagan Dougan and her children during this grieving time.
