Martin Co, FL – Crash on I-95 Results in One Driver Airlifted, Another Injured
Martin County, FL (September 23, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Martin County led to one person being airlifted to a hospital with significant injuries on Monday, September 23rd. The accident occurred just before 2 p.m., between Southeast Bridge Road and West Indiantown Road, not far from the interstate weigh station, according to Martin County Fire Rescue spokesperson Cory Pippin. The collision involved two sport utility vehicles; one rear-ended the other, causing the second vehicle to roll over. One of the drivers sustained serious injuries and was transported via helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach for emergency medical care. The second driver involved in the crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received on-site medical attention from local paramedics. The accident caused heavy damage to both vehicles, with debris scattered across the roadway. Authorities from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the crash.
