Mansfield, MA – New Bedford Woman Faces Charges after I-95 Crash near MM 11, Injuries Reported
Mansfield, MA (July 7, 2023)- In the early hours of Wednesday, July 5th a crash on I-95 resulted in several injuries, leading to a 37-year-old woman from New Bedford facing multiple charges, including OUI-Liquor, according to officials.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the incident near the 11-mile marker on I-95 South, close to Mansfield. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle had collided with another vehicle in the vicinity, causing injuries to several occupants. The vehicle responsible for the collision reportedly fled the scene.
Although the exact number of injured occupants was not specified by state police, they were quickly transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the crash.
Following a subsequent investigation, state police located another vehicle with significant front-end damage parked in the grass area off the side of the ramp leading to a rest area on I-95 South.
Damaris Perez-Alcina was subsequently arrested and is now facing charges that include OUI-Liquor, Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury, Marked Lanes Violation, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
