Hope Mills, NC – Four-Vehicle Wreck on I-95 Leaves Injuries in Cumberland Co
Hope Mills, NC (September 24, 2024) – A four-vehicle collision on I-95 in Cumberland County caused injuries on Tuesday afternoon, September 24. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. near Mile Marker 39 and I-295, involving three commercial vehicles and a bucket pickup truck. The collision began when a disabled commercial vehicle was parked on the shoulder of the southbound lanes. A bucket pickup truck was traveling in the right lane, followed by a second commercial vehicle, while a third commercial vehicle was in the left lane. As the bucket pickup slowed down to avoid the disabled vehicle, the second commercial truck swerved left to avoid a collision, striking both the bucket pickup and the third commercial vehicle. The third vehicle then hit the highway barrier.
The driver and passenger of the bucket pickup truck were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other individuals involved in the crash required medical treatment. Authorities are investigating the accident.
