Henrico, VA (May 5, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Sunday evening, May 4, claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl in Henrico County. 
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the 81-mile marker. The initial investigation by the Virginia State Police reveals that a sedan collided with the rear of an SUV in the left lane. After the collision, the sedan moved to the right shoulder, while the SUV remained partially in the left lane.
The 17-year-old girl, a passenger in the SUV, exited the vehicle to assess the damage. Tragically, as she was standing near the SUV, a third sedan approached from behind, striking both the girl and the SUV before crashing into the guardrail. The victim, identified as a 17-year-old from Crewe, VA, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family, including her mother, was inside one of the involved vehicles. Next of kin was notified on-site. No other injuries were reported, but the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
