Henrico County, VA – Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-95 North Near Parham Rd Claims One Life, Another Injured
Henrico County, VA (August 24, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred on the morning of August 24th when a tractor-trailer crash on I-95 North near Parham Road resulted in the loss of one life and injuries to another individual prompting the response of Virginia State Police (VSP) and EMS.
As per the VSP, the collision occurred at around 4:33 a.m. around mile marker 84. The driver of a 2019 International MV 607 truck, identified as Jeremy James Batty, 37, from Richmond, VA, veered off the road and collided with the back of a stationary tractor-trailer on the shoulder.
Responding paramedics worked at the scene to assist the victims and provide immediate medical aid. Tragically, Jeremy James Batty lost his life at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 32-year-old man from Fayetteville, N.C., sustained serious injuries in the collision. Despite the severity of his injuries, they were not considered life-threatening, and was transported to VCU Medical Center for medical treatment.
The Virginia State Police are actively investigating the details surrounding the crash to determine the sequence of events and any contributing factors.
