Hanover, VA – Fatal Collision Claims Three Lives, One Severely Injured on I-95 at MM 88

Hanover, VA (August 19, 2023) – A tragic collision involving two vehicles on I-95 resulted in the loss of three lives and left another individual with serious injuries. The incident occurred early Saturday, August 18th,  around 2 a.m. at the 88-mile marker.

Law enforcement authorities and emergency teams responded to the scene upon receiving traffic crash alerts. According to initial reports, a ram pickup truck collided with the rear of a stationary Nissan Sentra positioned in the highway’s center lane. The reason for the Sentra’s stationary position remains unclear.

Tragically, two young females and one male, whose age is currently unconfirmed, were pronounced deceased at the collision scene. Additionally, another male occupant sustained severe injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. While his injuries are serious, they are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the ram pickup truck emerged from the collision without any injuries.

The investigation into the cause of this devastating collision is ongoing as authorities strive to determine the factors that led to this tragic incident.
