Greenwich, CT – One Killed, Driver Injured in Crash on I-95/Exit 3
Greenwich, CT (August 16, 2025) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a construction worker early Saturday, August 16, when a vehicle struck a work zone along Interstate 95 southbound near Exit 3. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m., according to Connecticut State Police. Authorities identified the victim as 38-year-old Traymont Trucker of Waterbury. The trucker was working overnight in the construction zone when a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, veered into the work area and struck him.
Despite immediate aid from Greenwich EMS, Mr. Trucker was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to Stamford Hospital for further treatment. His condition is stable, and police have not released his identity at this time. The vehicle involved was heavily damaged and was later towed from the site. Multiple agencies responded, including the Greenwich Fire Department, the Greenwich Police Department, and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad. Investigators spent several hours documenting the scene.
