Greenland, NH – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-95 Leaves Two Seriously Injured
Greenland, NH (November 21, 2024) – A serious crash on I-95 Wednesday night, November 20, left two people with injuries. The accident, which occurred at around 9:10 p.m., involved multiple vehicles after a car crossed the median into oncoming traffic. According to New Hampshire State Police, a Volkswagen driven by a 26-year-old Merrimack man rear-ended a Toyota traveling southbound. The impact caused the Toyota to veer off the road and into an embankment, leaving its driver, a 29-year-old Ipswich, Massachusetts man, with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Volkswagen then crossed the median into the northbound lanes, where it was struck by another Volkswagen driven by a 46-year-old Portsmouth man. The Merrimack man’s car spun uncontrollably before catching fire. He was ejected from the vehicle and sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent care. The Portsmouth man sustained injuries, which were evaluated on-site. Meanwhile, a passenger in the Toyota was fortunate to escape uninjured. Authorities initiated investigations into the collision. State Police are urging anyone with information to contact Trooper Shane McClure at Shane.M.McClure@DOS.NH.GOV.
