Fredericksburg, VA – Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-95 near Exit 136 Kills Two

Fredericksburg, VA (July 6, 2023) – A tragic three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer occurred in Northern Virginia, resulting in two fatalities, additional injuries, and significant traffic disruptions on northbound Interstate 95. Virginia State Police responded to the incident, which occurred on July 6th, at around 4:40 a.m.

The collision, which involved an overturned tractor-trailer, occurred during the morning rush hour and led to the closure of Exit 136. One person, the driver of the truck, survived but sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to police authorities.

By 7:20 a.m., traffic extended five miles from north of Exit 130 in Fredericksburg. VDOT rerouted vehicles to Route 1 at Exit 136, directing them to the Centerport Parkway.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, with no immediate release of further details available at present.
