Fort Lauderdale, FL – Wrong-Way Crash on I-95 in Broward Sends Multiple People to Hospital

Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 26, 2023) – Authorities responded to a devastating wrong-way crash that occurred overnight, July 25th, on I-95 in Broward County, involving a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction.

The accident, which happened around 2:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Commercial Boulevard, resulted in a collision between the wrong-way driver and an oncoming vehicle.

Emergency responders from the Oakland Park fire department provided aid and transported the injured to the hospital. At least three individuals were rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, as of now, their conditions remain undisclosed.

Video footage from the accident scene depicted the extent of damage, with two vehicles suffering severe front-end impacts. The severity of the wreck necessitated the closure of the express lanes in the area, causing disruptions for a short period before they were reopened.
