Fort Lauderdale, FL – Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-95 Ent. Ramp/Broward Blvd

Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 10, 2025) – A pedestrian lost their life early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle on the entrance ramp to Interstate 95 southbound near Broward Boulevard. The crash occurred just before 5 a.m., prompting a response from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). According to FHP officials, a 62-year-old woman from Lake Placid, Florida, was driving a 2024 Hyundai when she collided with a pedestrian walking in the outer lane of the entrance ramp. The driver was reportedly unable to take evasive action before the impact, causing the pedestrian to be thrown into the air.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed that the pedestrian had suffered fatal injuries. The individual’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities during the investigation. She did not sustain any injuries. Authorities are reviewing traffic footage and speaking with witnesses to understand the circumstances leading up to the crash.
