Dillon, SC – Two Dead, Several Injured in Six-Car Crash on I-95 S near Dillon
Dillon, SC (November 27, 2024) – A devastating six-car collision on I-95 southbound near Dillon claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others injured on Wednesday morning, November 27.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) reported that the crash occurred around 6:52 a.m. when a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer failed to stop for traffic, initiating a chain-reaction accident involving five other vehicles. One occupant of a 2017 Honda CR-V was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a 2010 Honda Accord also lost their life in the crash. A passenger in the Accord was airlifted to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence for treatment of serious injuries. Additionally, the driver of a 2024 Nissan Sentra was transported to a local hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The identities of the deceased have not been released pending notification of their families. The SCHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
