Delray Beach, FL – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on I-95 at Atlantic Ave

Delray Beach, FL (September 21, 2024) – A tragic two-car accident occurred early Saturday morning on I-95 near Atlantic Avenue, claiming the life of a 39-year-old Delray Beach resident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 12:20 a.m. when a 2011 Kia Optima, driven by the deceased, rear-ended a 2012 Toyota Camry. Both vehicles were traveling northbound at the time. The impact caused the Kia Optima to veer left, slamming into the concrete barrier on the highway. The car bounced off the wall and eventually came to a stop on the inside shoulder. The driver of the Kia was rushed to Delray Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver and a passenger in the Camry, also 39 years old sustained non-life threatening injuries and were assessed on site. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led to the collision, as the reason for the rear-end crash remains unclear. Law enforcement is conducting the investigation.
