Delray Beach, FL – Fatal Car Accident Claims Life of Man on I-95 SB Near Linton Blvd Overpass

Delray Beach, FL (October 10, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred on the southbound lanes of I-95 in Delray Beach on the morning of October 10th. The Florida Highway Patrol reported the incident at around 5:50 a.m.

It involved a West Palm Beach man behind the wheel of a two-door Chevrolet Camaro, traveling southbound in the outer lane, just after passing the Linton Boulevard overpass.

Simultaneously, another driver was tending to a Ford pickup truck, parked on the outer shoulder, along with a man who was in the process of changing a rear left tire. Nearby, a Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV sat immobilized in the gore next to the southbound entrance of I-95 due to an unknown mechanical issue.

Tragedy struck when the driver of the Camaro suddenly veered onto the shoulder, colliding with both the man and the Ford pickup truck. Subsequently, the Camaro also impacted a guardrail and the left rear side of the stationary SUV.

The individual struck by the Camaro, identified as a 44-year-old man from Palm Springs, tragically lost his life at the scene. The Camaro’s driver was rushed to Delray Medical Center for medical attention, and the Ford pickup truck’s driver, a 40-year-old man from Lake Worth, emerged from the incident without injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the accident, with the details still unfolding.
