Chester, PA – State Troopers Injured in Three-Car Wreckk on I-95 SB near MM 5.3
Chester, PA (January 2, 2023) – On January 1st, a motor vehicle collision with injuries occurred on Interstate 95 Southbound near mile marker 5.3 in Chester City, Delaware County. At around 3:21 in the morning, a 2010 white Acura TL, driven by a 21-year-old male from Chester, PA, collided with a marked patrol unit, K2-09, manned by two Pennsylvania State Troopers assisting a disabled motorist in the left lane. The disabled vehicle, a 2012 gray Dodge Challenger, was unoccupied at the time of the collision. Emergency responders transported the troopers and Acura TL occupants to the hospital. Both State Troopers and the Acura TL’s backseat passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were later discharged. However, the front-seat passenger of the Acura TL received treatment for serious injuries. The investigation led to a five-hour closure of the highway.
