Chester, PA – Pennsylvania State Trooper Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-95
Chester, PA (August 7, 2023) – A Pennsylvania State Trooper sustained injuries in a hit-and-run incident on I-95 SB in Chester. The trooper was struck by another vehicle while attending to a crash on the right shoulder of the highway. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, August, 7th.
While awaiting a tow for the two vehicles involved in the initial crash, the trooper’s parked patrol car was struck on the driver’s side by a passing vehicle. The trooper, who was inside the patrol car at the time, was subsequently transported to Riddle Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Another individual, a woman, also suffered injuries in the collision and was taken to Crozer Hospital for medical attention.
The vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run fled the scene, heading southbound on I-95, as reported by authorities.
Following the incident, a temporary closure of the highway was implemented, causing traffic disruptions. However, the road has since been reopened for normal traffic flow.
