Chester, PA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 SB/PA 420 Exit
Chester, PA (April 27, 2025) – On April 27, a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 southbound, about 1.1 miles north of Exit 9B/9A (PA 420 – Prospect Park/Essington), left several people injured. The Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that the crash involved several vehicles and happened during peak afternoon traffic. Witnesses reported that one vehicle abruptly changed lanes, causing a chain reaction crash that quickly involved multiple others.
First responders from Chester Fire and Rescue, along with state troopers, arrived swiftly at the scene to assist. Several individuals suffered injuries; some were treated on-site while others were transported to local hospitals for further medical care. At least one person reportedly suffered moderate injuries requiring hospitalization. The southbound lanes of I-95 experienced significant delays as crews worked to assist victims, clear the wreckage, and begin their accident investigation.
