Branford, CT – Fatal Head-On Collision on I-95, Exits 53 and 52 Claims One Life
Branford, CT (January 15, 2024) – On the morning of January 14th, Satoya Tenise McCullers-Mays, a 48-year-old woman from Tucson, Arizona, tragically lost her life in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on I-95, according to state police. McCullers-Mays was driving a Grand Cherokee Laredo in the wrong direction when the collision occurred, resulting in her ejection from the Jeep, which then caught fire, leading to her death at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The crash, which happened between exits 53 and 52 around 7:22 a.m., led to a six-hour closure of the highway. First responders, including state police, worked on the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking for information, eyewitnesses, or dashcam footage.
