Bangor, ME – Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95, One Person Hospitalized

Bangor, ME (June 29, 2023) – A serious multi-vehicle crash occurred on I-95 in Bangor on Thursday morning, resulting in one person being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident occurred on the northbound side at mile marker 183.

According to the Maine State Police, the crash was initiated when a vehicle suddenly came to a stop in the passing lane while a trooper was conducting a traffic stop on the left side of the interstate. As a result, the vehicle behind them abruptly stopped and was rear-ended, leading to a chain reaction and the involvement of nine vehicles.

Remarkably, the initial car that caused the sudden stop was not struck and continued driving. Unfortunately, no witnesses were able to provide a description of the vehicle.

The road has since reopened, and authorities are currently investigating the crash. Meanwhile, one person involved in the collision was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
