Arbutus, MD – One Killed, Multiple Injured in Crash on I-95 at I-695 Int.

Arbutus, MD (April 8, 2025) – A fatal three-vehicle accident in Arbutus left one person dead and several others injured during the early morning hours of April 8, along southbound Interstate 95 near the Interstate 695 interchange in Baltimore County. Maryland State Police reported that the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. when a Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a dump truck traveling in the same direction. Following the impact, the Jeep came to a stop in a live travel lane. Investigators believe the driver of the Jeep exited the vehicle, at which point they were struck by an oncoming Subaru, which also collided with the dump truck.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The drivers of both the dump truck and the Subaru, along with a passenger from the truck, sustained injuries. All were transported to a local medical facility for evaluation and treatment. The conditions of those injured have not been disclosed, but are believed to be non-life-threatening. The Maryland State Police are continuing their investigation into what led to the initial collision and the chain of events that followed.
